Build A Ring Farm beginner guide

If you just started Build A Ring Farm, this guide covers everything in order: what to do in your first session, which upgrades matter, which codes to use when, and how to avoid the most common early mistakes.

5-step beginner path

1

Complete the tutorial and redeem starter codes

The tutorial walks you through planting, harvesting, and basic selling. Once it ends, immediately redeem your starter codes in the settings gear menu:

  • UPDATE1 → 3 Strong Fertilizers (use on your best crop)
  • UPDATE2 → Tropical Seed Pack (open it — free crop quality jump)
  • 2KLIKES → Tropical Seed Pack (same benefit)
  • 100KVISITS → 5 Minute Time Skip (save this for later)
  • THANKYOU → Autumn Spray (save for a Legendary+ crop)
  • BARF:3 → Acid Spray (save for removing weak mutations)

2

Fill every available plot and sell often

Every empty plot is lost income. Plant whatever seeds you have — even Common crops like Wheat and Carrot generate cash when automated. Sell frequently in the early game to accumulate the upgrade capital you need.

Do not worry about seed quality yet. Your goal at this stage is a functioning, selling farm — not a perfect one.

3

Upgrade Saw Range and Sprinkler first

The two upgrades that matter most early:

  1. Saw Range — if the saw cannot reach a plot, that crop earns nothing.
  2. Sprinkler Power — if crops are not mature when the saw arrives, it skips them. Power ensures crops are ready in time.
  3. Sprinkler Range — ensures wider plots and future ring expansions stay watered.

Keep these three ahead of your farm size. A small, fully automated ring earns more than a large, half-covered one.

4

Roll for better crops once automation is stable

Once your Base Ring is running well — saw reaching everything, crops maturing on time — start spending on Seed Luck and Seed Rolls to get Epic and Legendary crops.

Replace Common and Rare crops as you get better seeds. The income jump from Wheat ($12) to Corn ($250) is significant. The jump from Corn to Starfruit ($13,000) is massive.

5

Hunt mutations and unlock the Middle Ring

Once your Base Ring (7×) has Epic or better crops and runs stably, unlock the Middle Ring (13×). Start staying active during weather events to collect mutations on your best crops.

Your first mutation goal should be Wet (1.5×) or Frozen (1.75×) on Epic crops — something to start compounding while you work toward Radioactive and Rainbow.

Most common beginner mistakes

❌ Buying land before automating it

New plots earn nothing until your saw can reach them AND your sprinkler can water them. Empty outer plots delay your income and waste upgrade cash. Buy land only after upgrading Saw Range and Sprinkler Range to cover it.

❌ Using Time Skip on a weak farm

The Time Skip reward scales with current farm output. A starter Carrot farm using a Time Skip earns a fraction of what a mutated Strawberry farm earns. Save the 100KVISITS Time Skip reward until your farm is properly set up.

❌ Using premium sprays on temporary crops

The THANKYOU Autumn Spray is a free 2× multiplier. Do not waste it on a Wheat or Carrot you plan to replace in 10 minutes. Save it for a Legendary crop you intend to keep and level.

❌ Leveling every crop to max

Leveling is expensive. Spend level-up cash on crops that: (a) are inside automation coverage, (b) are Rare or better, and (c) you expect to keep. Spending thousands on a Common crop that will be replaced is wasted investment.

❌ Rebirthng too early

Rebirth resets your farm. Do not rebirth before using your best Time Skip and before the permanent bonus makes next-run rebuilding clearly faster. Premature Rebirth just delays your progress.

❌ Ignoring event pop-ups

Weather events are the only way to get mutations for free. Missing a Galaxy or Bee Swarm event because you were AFK means missing a potential Rainbow (5×) or Honeycomb (6.5×) mutation — the most valuable items in the game.
