Build A Ring Farm rings guide
The ring system is Build A Ring Farm's core income multiplier. Every crop's value is multiplied by the ring tier it sits in — Base (7×), Middle (13×), or Outer (19×). Combine rings with mutations for the highest possible income.
Ring multiplier table
| Ring tier | Multiplier | Plot location | Automation needed | Best crop tier | Strategy note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 💎 Base Ring | 7× | Innermost ring around the center | Basic Saw Range + Sprinkler | Common → Rare (early), Epic (mid) | Start here. Fully automate this ring before unlocking Middle. |
| 🌿 Middle Ring | 13× | Second ring of plots | Upgraded Saw Range + Sprinkler Range | Epic → Legendary | Unlock after Base Ring is stable. Push Epic and Legendary crops here. |
| ⭐ Outer Ring | 19× | Outermost ring of plots | Max Saw Range + Max Sprinkler Range | Exotic / Secret / Prismatic | Reserve for your absolute best crops with premium mutations. |

Ring placement strategy
1. Always fully automate before expanding
The Outer Ring's 19× multiplier is worthless if your saw cannot reach it or your sprinkler cannot water it. Expand only after the current ring is fully automated — saw hitting every crop, sprinkler power keeping crops mature before the next saw pass.
2. Match crop quality to ring tier
Do not waste Outer Ring slots on Common or Rare crops. The ring multiplier amplifies your base crop value. Placing a $3 Carrot in the Outer Ring earns $3 × 19 = $57. Placing a $65,000 Golden Apple in the Outer Ring earns $65,000 × 19 = $1.235M per harvest — plus mutation multiplier on top.
3. When to unlock the Middle Ring
Unlock the Middle Ring after your Base Ring is stable with Epic or better crops. The additional Saw Range and Sprinkler Range investment is worth it when you have strong crops ready to move in.
4. Reserve the Outer Ring for premium crops
Save Outer Ring slots for Exotic, Secret, and Prismatic crops. These are the only crop tiers where a Rainbow or Honeycomb mutation on an Outer Ring plot creates the massive income numbers that justify the automation investment.
Ring × mutation multiplier combinations
The total income multiplier is: Ring multiplier × Mutation multiplier × Crop base value. Here are the key end-game combinations:
| Scenario | Ring | Mutation | Combined multiplier | On Ghost Pepper ($500K) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Good mid-game | Middle 13× | Radioactive 3× | 39× | $19.5M |
| Strong late-game | Outer 19× | Rainbow 5× | 95× | $47.5M |
| ⭐ Max end-game | Outer 19× | Honeycomb 6.5× | 123.5× | $61.75M |
| Decent late setup | Outer 19× | Farm 4× | 76× | $38M |
| Early outer ring | Outer 19× | Wet 1.5× | 28.5× | $14.25M |
Ghost Pepper ($500K) is used as the example crop. Values are estimates using community-verified base income data.
Rings FAQ
What are the ring multipliers?
Base Ring = 7×, Middle Ring = 13×, Outer Ring = 19×. These multiply every crop's base income based on which ring tier the plot sits in.
Do rings and mutations stack?
Yes — ring and mutation multipliers combine multiplicatively. A crop in the Outer Ring (19×) with a Honeycomb mutation (6.5×) earns 123.5× its base income per harvest.
Can I move a crop to a higher ring?
Yes — you can uproot and replant crops. Moving a strong leveled crop with a good mutation to an Outer Ring slot is one of the highest-ROI moves available after you have stable automation coverage there.
What happens to unmutated crops in the Outer Ring?
They still earn 19× their base value, which is still a strong multiplier. But the full compound effect only appears when a premium mutation is active too — which is why the Outer Ring is reserved for crops worth mutating.
Does the ring system reset on Rebirth?
Yes — Rebirth resets the farm including ring unlocks. However, the permanent Rebirth multiplier applies to all income, so rebuilding through rings is faster each time.
